This tiny brown cafe has been a cornerstone of the Amsterdam beer scene for decades. If you've ever been to the annual Bokbier Festival in the cavernous Beurs van Berlage you might be surprised to know that the event started here in the late seventies. Henk Eggens who founded the cafe moved on bigger things with In de Wildeman and Gollem has since suffered from numerous changes of management. The current father and son team took over in 2002 and started the ball rolling by increasing the range of draught beers.
